Why AIIMS and JIPMER are not under NEET and why they are going to conduct their separate entrance exam for MBBS admission?

Many students have a question in their mind that, Even after Supreme Court’s final order on NEET “that only NEET would enable students to get admission to MBBS or BDS course”. Then Why AIIMS and JIPMER are going to conduct their separate MBBS entrance exam in 2017. So, to clear your confusion we are providing the legal explanation here.

1)AIIMS

All India Institute of Medical Sciences was established by an Act of Parliament of 1956 as an autonomous institution of national importance and its objectives and functions were defined. By virtue of this Act, the Institute awards its own medical degrees, diplomas and other academic distinctions. The degrees and diplomas awarded by the Institute under the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Act are recognized medical qualifications for the purpose of the Indian Medical Council Act and notwithstanding anything contained in the Medical Council Act, are deemed to be included in the first schedule of that Act, entitling the holders to the same privileges as those attached to the equivalent awards from other universities of India.

Six other AIIMS
Under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana, six new All India Institutes of Medical Sciences have been established similar to AIIMS, New Delhi. The government of India has also decided that the Academic Session for the current year in six New AIIMS at Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur and Rishikesh, will also be started in August 2016 with intake of 100 students for each of the new institutions. As per the directives of the Ministry selection for admission will be done through the same Entrance Examination by which candidates are selected for AIIMS, New Delhi. The admission will be done on the basis of merit-cum-choice of the candidates.

2)Jipmer

Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry (JIPMER) under Government of India since the year 1956, is one of the leading Medical Institutions of India. Spread over a sprawling 195-acre campus in an urban locale of Puducherry (formerly Pondicherry), JIPMER is 170 km. by road from Chennai.

JIPMER has been declared as an “Institution of National Importance” by an Act of Parliament, JIPMER, Puducherry, Act, 2008. A copy of the Act was Gazette notified on 14-7-2008 to enforce this Act. Prior to this, the Institute was functioning under the administrative control of Directorate General of Health Service, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi.

The Institution is now empowered to award Medical Degrees, Diplomas, etc., under the clauses 23 & 24 of the said Act. Such Degrees / Diploma, etc., shall be deemed to be included in the schedules to the respective Acts governing Medical Council of India, Indian Nursing Council and Dental Council of India, entitling the holders to the same privileges as those attached to the equivalent awards from the recognized Universities of India.
AIIMS and JIPMER will conduct their separate entrance exam for MBBS course admission in 2017. Also they had already coducted their seperate entrance exam for MBBS course in 2016 as well.

    Answer precribed above are not satisfied. NEET was brought a common entrance test for all medical colleges/universities including private institutions. Insitutions covered under NEET are situated in India and similarly, AIIMS and JIMPMER are also situated in Indian boundary, which are not foreign territory. All are for the people. Why all are not brought under NEET?.
