JIPMER MBBS 2016

The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry will be conducting the JIPMER MBBS entrance exam on June 5 for admission in 200 MBBS Seats.

Important Dates –

1)Online registration starts: 7th March 2016
2)Online registration Closes on : 4th May 2016
3)Exam date: 5th June 2016(10 AM-12:30 PM)

Seats –

200 MBBS Seats (150 in JIPMER Puducherry, and 50 in JIPMER Karaikal).
1)JIPMER Puducherry-150 MBBS Seats
a)Pondicherry state Candidate: Total (40 seats); General – 23, SC – 6 , OBC – 11 b)Candidates from other state: Total (105 seats); General – 50 , SC – 16 , OBC – 28 , ST – 11
c)5 Seats for OCI/ NRI (under self-financing scheme) applicants.

2)JIPMER Karaikal- 50 MBBS Seats
a)Pondicherry state Candidate: Total (14 seats); General – 07 , SC – 02 , OBC – 05
b)Candidates from other state: Total (35 seats); General – 15 , SC – 06 , OBC –10 , ST – 04
c)1 Seats for OCI/ NRI (under self-financing scheme) applicants.

Application fee-

1)UR / OBC / NRI- 1000/-
2)SC / ST- 800/-
3)OPH candidates are exempted from application fee.
Note – The candidate have to submit the application fee through the debit and credit card or via net-banking only.

Eligibility-

1)Nationality: Indian Nationals, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) are also eligible to apply
2)Qualification: Must have passed / appeared for HSC (10+2) examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English / Equivalent. The candidates must have obtained the 50% marks (40% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PH category) in the qualifying examination.
3)Age: Candidates must have attained 17 years of age at the time of admission or should complete 17 years on or before 31st Dec 2016 i.e., must have been born on or before 01st Jan 2000

Instruction for photograph/signature-

1) Recent colour passport size photograph with light background
2) Photograph must be taken on or after 31st January 2016
3) Photographs must be taken with Placard indicating name of candidate and date of taking photograph.
4)Size of photograph 30mm width and 45mm height. Keep size of photograph between 20-200 KB.
5) Signature on white paper with black ball point pen. Area of paper 80mm width and 35mm height. Keep size of photograph between 20-200 KB.

Exam Pattern-

1) Mode -The entrance exam will be conducted in online (computer based test) mode.
2) Language -The question paper will be available in English language only.
3) Marking- +1 for every correct answer, 0 for no answer or multiple answers marked, no negative marking.

200 MCQs in 2hr 30 min(+1,-0).
