NEET Ordinance Issue
Union Health Minister JP Nadda met President Pranab Mukherjee today to explain the reason behind taking the ordinance route to keep state boards out of the NEET for this year. President Pranab Mukherjee wanted some points clarified before he signed the ordinance. After the 30 minute meeting with President Pranab Mukherjee, Mr Nadda said he was confident that the President will sign the ordinance.President Pranab Mukherjee is leaving for China on Tuesday.

Health Ministry was asked by the President to explain the reasons for taking the ordinance route.
The ordinance, cleared by the Cabinet on Friday 20th May, is aimed at partially overturning a Supreme Court order which said only NEET would enable students to get admission to MBBS or BDS course , means all government medical colleges, deemed universities and private medical colleges have to take admission through NEET. The ordinance amending the Indian Medical Council Act 1956, which governs MBBS and BDS admissions.
Moreover, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday had urged President Pranab Mukherjee not to sign the ordinance.

Earlier after Supreme Court final order, more than 15 states were opposed to NEET and had raised concerns over variation in CBSE and state board syllabi, and difference in the language in which NEET is held.
Entrance Mantra’s teams wants to clear that the exemption for NEET this year as per the Ordinance, is only for the State medical colleges. No such relaxation will be available to private medical colleges , In Private medical college MBBS and BDS seats will be filled through NEET Phase 1 and 2 rank
The next phase of NEET scheduled for July 24.
