West Bengal Government decided To conduct WBJEE Medical On July 20

The West Bengal government on Monday(30th May, 2016) decided to conduct their own entrance exam on 20th July 2016 for admission in MBBS and BDS courses. Sources said that it was decided in a meeting that the WBJEE(West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board) will hold the entrance examination WBJEEM-2016. It means that West Bengal will not going to accept NEET score for admission in state quota seat.
The syllabus will remain same as it was declared earlier in the Information Brochure and candidates will not be required to submit any fresh application or deposit any fees for appearing in the examination. Fresh Admit Cards will be issued to all the candidates appearing for the examination.
The board had earlier cancelled the exam for admission in MBBS and BDS courses after the Supreme Court rejected a plea of state governments and other institutions to allow them to hold separate entrance exams.
Later, an ordinance passed by the Union Cabinet that allow state government to conduct separate entrance exam for this year.

Pursuant to the Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Ordinance, 2016 and the Dentist (Amendment) Ordinance, 2016 published by the Ministry of Law & Justice (Legislative Department) through the Gazette Notification on 24th May, 2016, the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board has decided to conduct the State Common Entrance
Examination (WBJEEM-2016) for admission to MBBS and BDS course on 20th July, 2016 (Wednesday).

Schedule of Examination : Date Of Examination 20th July, 2016

Biological Sciences    10-30 a.m. to 1-00 p.m.
Physics + Chemistry   2-00 p.m. to 4-00 p.m.
